About
Blooming Daisy

The name of my practice, Blooming Daisy, comes from a few places which helps to explain who I am and how I work as a therapist. Let me start with the meaning. The meaning of the word “Daisy” is new beginnings. Adding the word “blooming” in front of Daisy, resembles the hope of you blooming into and cultivating a meaningful world for yourself which you truly align with.

The word “Daisy” is also my mother’s nickname. Having my mother in the name of my practice resembles the love, closeness, and unity I have with my mother and family. My mother lights up a room with her smile and laugh, beaming genuineness, and her capability to consistently operate from a space of love. I am repeatedly told by family members I have taken on these characteristics from my mother, and I am honoured.

The closeness I have with my family is a place I hold deep value and gratitude for as it has pushed me to be the woman I am today. Additionally, having my mother’s nickname in my practice also resembles the deeper work and challenges which came from developing my identity in a close-knit, East Indian family. My work has consisted of learning how to balance cultural and family values while still breathing and existing in my true authentic self. It has been empowering and demanding tapping into a deeper sense of my identity as a woman of colour in this world.

It has also been rewarding as it has supported me in growing into the therapist I am today, where I am able to better support my clients. It has allowed me to engage with more ease and truth in the world. Our self-development and learnings continue if we lean into the process and allow life to be a playground of learning.

Another reason for choosing the name Blooming Daisy as my practice name is because of how I work as a therapist. One of the therapeutic lenses I work from in my practice is Adlerian therapy by Alfred Adler.

Alfred Adler understood humans through the framework of individuals family atmosphere and childhood. I work from this theory to understand my client’s sense of belonging and purpose for their behaviour.

Altogether, the name Blooming Daisy came together to encourage hope for you, a personal touch and a piece of how I work as a therapist.

What you can expect from me

Through my clinical work and life experiences, I have found that many of us as humans do not take enough time to slow down and attune to what is truly going on internally within ourselves, leading to unresolved issues.

As a trauma-informed therapist in Surrey and Langley, B.C. I take a strength-based, somatic, person-centered and mindfulness approach to help empower my clients to practice embracing and embodying who they truly are, while listening to what fuels their body and mind.

If you decide to give me the privilege of being on your team, I will consistently show up with respect, gentleness, authenticity, and a supportive presence. We will explore your world and together and find ways of being which align with you. I believe the sense of strength and awareness you’re looking for already exists within you, and my role is to support you in accessing it. What I hope you gain from our time together is a deeper sense of your identity, the confidence to live a fulfilled life, and the ability to trust yourself and your decisions.
