Frequently Asked Questions

It would be important to check if and how much your insurance covers for counselling services first. I do not direct bill. However, if you are covered through your benefits, all you would need to do is submit your claim for coverage with my Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) number. My RCC number is 19548 and is provided on my invoices after each session.

The first session is at your pace. It is a 50-minute session where I begin to get to know you and your therapeutic needs and goals. I can take the lead in session if this feels more comfortable or you can begin sharing your story in whatever way you wish. This session is a “get to know you session” and is meant for you to see if I would be a good fit for your healing process.

My rates are $150 per session and I take cash, e-transfer, or cheque at the moment. This will be changing with time.

The choice of how often you would like to come into therapy is up to you. What I have found is coming in consistently in the beginning of therapy can be more helpful as it allows us to move deeper into your issues, gives us a clearer understanding of what direction feels good to focus on and deepens the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, research shows coming in more frequently helps with deeper insights and outcomes. Whatever you decide, I will be here to support you.

Online and phone counselling are the same price as in-person counselling. I use Zoom for online counselling and my business number for phone counselling.

If you are unable to attend a session or need to reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours before your scheduled session to avoid the full session fee. However, we are all human and I understand unexpected matters come up in life. We can always discuss this fee during our time.

If you are in crisis and are needing someone to talk to before our scheduled session, please call the Fraser Health Crisis Line to talk to someone. Their number is 1-877-820-7444. If it is an emergency and your health is at risk, please call 9-1-1. We can always discuss additional resources if you are feeling these are not enough to provide you support during your healing.

I respond to emails and calls within 24 hours. If I do take longer than this, do not worry! I did not forget about you. I may just need another day to get to your call or email.
